L.G.Thakkar
Founder & Mentor

Mr. L.G.Thakkar, came to Ahmedabad in 1956 and founded L.G.Thakkar, Tax Consultants.

Pioneering one of the oldest tax consultancy firms in Ahmedabad , he has delivered prominent results in various search, seizure and settlement matters. An economist and lawyer by qualification, he believed in providing his clients with the finest quality of services in matters relating to taxation. Over the last 60 years, Mr. L.G.Thakkar was part of various organizations such as,

• President, Income Tax Bar Association, 1973
• President, Tax Advocates Association, 1977
• Vice President, All Gujarat Federation of Tax Consultant
• Honorary Joint Secretary, All India Federation of Tax Practioners
• Vice President, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal Association

Not only this, he had been nominated by the Gujarat Government to the Board of Directors, of Gujarat Aromatics Ltd.

He had also been nominated by the Government as Member of Tax Advisory Board, 1983-84.

He was also a Member in the Taxation sub-committee of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ahmedabad.

Mr. Thakkar always propagated how important it was to give back to the society and many social and educational organizations had chosen to take his support by assigning important positions such as,

Aseem Thakkar
Managing Partner (FCA, B.COM, LLB)

Mr. Aseem Thakkar’s enterprising nature helped widen the firm’s activities to audit and litigation.

He has over 30 years of experience in specialized services relating to tax consultancy, statutory and listed company audits, search, seizure, survey matters. He also appears regularly before the Hon. Income Tax Settlement Commission as well as the Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Properties, New Delhi.

Along with this, he expanded the firm by opening a branch office in Mumbai in 2013.

Mr. Aseem Thakkar has been associated with various professional organizations such as,

• Secretary, Income Tax Bar Association
• Invitee Committee Member, All Gujarat Federation of Tax Consultants
• Member of Taxation Sub Committee, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Along with the above, he has been invited as a speaker in various professional organisations. He also regularly appears on Doordarshan and other Television Networks for discussions relating to tax matters including Budget Analysis.

He has made valuable contributions in various papers, articles and conferences organized by professional and non professional organisations.

Mrs Bindu Thakkar
(B.COM, LLB)

She is a practising High Court Advocate since 1990. She is actively engaged in Indirect Taxes matters . Apart from this, she is the Joint General Secretary of “Vishwa Gujarati Samaj”, NGO representing the Global Gujaratis, Joint Treasurer of FLO, Ahmedabad Chapter (FICCI Ladies Organization) and Vice President in Experiment in International Living, Ahmedabad Chapter. She is has also been past chairperson of Ladies Wing of Tax Advocates Assocation(Association), Gujarat.

Jashavantrai Dhruve
(B.COM)

Jashavantrai Dhruve joined as Tax Assistant since 1971 therefore the vast experience of 45 years in Income Tax Return Reparation and appearing before Income Tax Authorities. His rich & vast experience of nearly 5 decades in the profession has given a cutting edge to the firm in terms of competence and technical expertise.

Sanjiv V. Shah
Partner (B.COM, FCA)

A Fellow Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of vast professional experience in the field of Statutory /Internal Audit, Bank Audits, Taxation and Company Law. He possesses in depth and expert knowledge in the field of accounts, mergers and acquisitions and other incidental matters.

Bindi J. Dalal
Partner (FCA, DISA, M.COM, LLB)

CA Bindi Dalal , 24th rank holder in CPT is Active partner of the Firm since 2012. She has a long term relationship with the firm since her articleship training . She qualified as Chartered Accountant in May 2011. She is involved in the firm’s core Income Tax Matters, Tax Audit, Income tax return filing and all procedural aspects, assisting in preparation of petitions before the Hon. Income Tax Settlement Commission, appellate work, resolving controversial TDS related issues. She is also handling Service tax and GST matters.

Mitul C Raval
Partner (B.COM, FCA)

He started his career as audit assistance with A. L. Thakkar & Co. and continued with the firm post qualification. As of 2019, he has 8 years of experience in statutory audit, internal audit, concurrent audit, bank audit, ROC filling and assurance related matters. He has pioneered efforts in areas of audit and has delivered successful results for several clients. His strength lies in maintaining integrity and delivering client satisfying services. His vision is to transform the entire practice onto a platform of quality driven service industry.

Piyush Agrawal
Partner (CA, B.COM)

Piyush Agarwal is one of the youngest recruits in the firm. He brings in with him the new energy, vibrancy, knowledge and mature understanding to create and achieve new heights in the face of current global scenario. He is a practicing Chartered Accountant and joined the firm in the year 2014 His forte is effective representation in direct taxation matters before Assessing authorities as well as Appellate authorities. He is constantly updating himself by attending various seminars and conferences conducted by ICAI.

Jayshree R. Patel
(B.COM, LLB) (University of Bombay)

Working since the last 33 years in this Firm, she handles with utmost competence the preparation of legal and other documents. She is also a key member and undertakes the preparation of petitions before the Appellate Authorities & Hon. Income Tax Settlement Commission. Due to the experience the legal field she contributes immensely to the division of the firm handling matters before the Adjudicating Authorities & Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Properties which deal with SAFEMA, NDPSA & Benami Properties matters.

Niralee Thakkar Talati
(B.COM, LLB, ACA, MS Finance)

She is the latest recruit in the firm. She was formerly a Tax consultant with EY, Ahmedabad in International Tax and Transfer Pricing. She looks after the Transfer Pricing (Domestic & International) matters including withholding of taxes.
